Last year I traced my Grandfather's (Maternal) family back to Englefield Green. My GGG Grandfather was a publican at the Star and Garter, Normans Row Englefield Green in the 19th Century. Many Generations were born in and around the area. My GGG Grandfather John Beauchamp died in 1895 and is buried in the large cemetary. I visited Englefield Green last year and thought it was a beautiful place, I felt a strong link especially when I found John's and his wife Charlotte's grave. My Great Grandfather George William Beauchamp was the last member of my family to live in Englefield Green and left at the end of the 19th Century. If anyone has any old photo's or any information about Englefield Green in the 19th Century or if there is any distant relatives still living in the area, I would be delighted to hear about it. Have been reading comments on the site which I visit often. It occured to me that young people may not realise that at least one V1 bomb(flying bomb, doodlebug) landed nearby just inside Windsor Great Park (on its way to London, or maybe Windsor???). I used to run up and down the crater as a young girl, but was horrified to hear it has now been filled in as a car park for the Park. I do not believe there is any historical plaque to record its existence.

I lived in Englefield Green in the late 60's & early 70's. Went to Magna Carta School till about 1970. Trying to locate an old schoolmate who lived in EG at the same time by the name of Jeannie Blower (maiden name). Last heard of in the EG area but have lost contact with her since moving to Australia. Anybody out there know her???? &/or an email address??

Hi, I moved from Englefield Green in 1999 to live in West Sussex, My three children were all brought up there and I attended St Judes Church, also was Brown owl for many years. More recently my family returned to St Judes for the baptism of my two Grandchildren, Harry and Hannah Short.

I aim to do a tandem skydive on the 21st October for the Brain and spine foundation and thought there may be someone in Englefield Green who would like to sponsor me. If there is anyone out there please go to:

I would appreciate any support for this charity which is close to my heart.

Many thanks, Sue Beach

I lived in this superb village from 1991 until 1998. Unfortunately, I sold up and emigrated to Devon. Glad to say I am back "Home" via Devon, Wales and the Caribbean. A very beautiful and very friendly village, with excellent amenities and surrounds, clean air and a pleasure to live in.

I lived in Englefield Green for 17 years, I went to St. Judes Infant school, St. Judes Middle School and then on to Magna Carta and Strodes college after that. Does Miss Jacobīs still have a dancing school? I also went to guitar classes with Mrs. Shade. Iīd love to hear from anyone who remebers me.

City : norwich,

I am researching my mother's family, the Cams, who lived in Englefield Green through the nineteenth century, and many of whom worked on Windsor Great Park. I am particularly trying to trace back from John Cam, born 1801, but any information about this family would be welcome..thanks
